It is easy to detect in a small city: the population – less than 900. The destruction seems minimal, since the tank of the Second World War was "crushed" by the wall of the old facade. Broken bricks litter deposition and soil. The tower is designed to deter all threats. This World War II Museum in Eldred Small, PA, about an hour south of Buffalo, NY.
This small town museum and the promoters of great service to the preservation of history locally and globally. Opened in 1996, is dedicated to those who served in the front and the hills a natural defense, if necessary. More than 1,500 people worked in the plant until mid-1945. Mostly women, were built bombs, mortar shells and fuses for the war effort. The plant has 24 hours a day. In total, Eldred shipped over eight million units of the British and U.S. troops.

The lobby also includes a tribute to life-size women who worked in local munitions factory. All wore special clothing cotton rubber buttons. Everyone had to disperse static electricity from your body by touching a metal rod before entering in the areas of ammunition. Eldred was just one of hundreds of factories in the U.S. have contributed to the war effort. The factory building house on the outskirts of the city sleep now, old and dilapidated, a shell of its former glory.
Movies, slide shows, presentations and storyboards detailing the weapons, strategies, battles and the lives of those who fought the Allies and Axis. For a unique set of circumstances, objects on display include pieces sent to the Russian Museum. It is easy to spend several hours here, learning or reviewing the history of World War II.
Eldred is also one of the few places in the world with a bridge that has an intersection in the center. Built in the early 1920, Kendall Bridge Road Unit 346 and 446. The 500-foot SPAN crosses a highway, railroad and the Allegheny River.
Allegheny Arms and Armor Museum on Route 46 near of Smethport focuses on weapons of war. Unlike the singular focus of Eldred, AA & A offers an extensive collection of ships, tanks, aircraft, vehicles and weapons World War until today. Its eclectic collection includes Huey helicopters, a Desert Storm in Russian tanks, howitzers and other military objects "retired".
In nearby Portville, NY, Sprague's Maple Farm & Restaurant is an ideal spot to stop. Located in the hills, you can go a trip to the Sugar Shack Maple Trail of age, learning the maple syrup production in the road. Sprague hosts a variety of events throughout during throughout the year. Mars is the best time to view the syrup-making. Customers can also make maple sugar on snow, walk on board the car of sugar, or with flavored maple flavored cotton candy spinning. The popular restaurant offers a full menu of home-style favorites and sauces to taste maple syrup and dessert. Take home your favorite sweet maple and crafts of the country presents.
