Nick Saban recently became the University of Alabama football coach by signing the richest contract ever awarded to a football coach American schoolboy.
Its 8 years, 32 million versus the Crimson Tide has a base salary of $ 225,000, to be complemented by personal service fee of from $ 3275 to 3.975 million dollars a year. Fans of American football is awash with money for winners who think they can put his team on top.
Trying Saban does not waive the clause if he leaves, but the PAC appearances to 15 per year (for alumni and booster clubs) that are not related to annotations.
The contract also includes incentives that could generate another $ 650,000 for the scope and success of the school and players. Something big is $ 200,000 when it reaches the final BCS championship intensifies Alabama and $ 400,000 if he wins.
Saban also gets a country club membership, two cars, a luxury box Bryant-Denny Stadium and up to 25 flight hours per year for personal travel in a non-commercial.
Oh, it's good to be in Alabama, Nick Saban today. Now we to win and win big, is capable of training positions in other universities.
In his only year as head coach at Toledo, led the Rockets at 6-5 9-2 and the Mid-American Conference co-championship.
Saban then went to Michigan State and five seasons with the Spartans turned a poor, the continuing failure to end the season 9-2 for the season to win over Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State, before resigning in 1999.
One last season, MSU shot down then No. 1 ranked Ohio State 28-24 in Ohio Stadium and beat the high score of Notre Dame before sometimes later in the season.
If the Big 10 was not enough, Saban's next stop was another five seasons with the LSU Tigers in harder, the Conference of the worst in the Southeast.
He chalk 10-3 and an SEC championship in his sophomore year and beat things with a 13-1 record in his fourth season (2003) which won the Tigers a second SEC championship with Saban as the title of BCS National Championship after a 21-14 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.
After two years on average, trying to Miami Dolphins get in the way of the NFL, he went to become a new hope in Alabama. Saban has been able to build a defense with the dolphins, but never had the offensive ongoing suffering of their first losing record as head coach.
Saban has extended family connections with football. His cousin Lou Saban was named twice All-Big Ten player at Indiana University and was head coach of the Buffalo Bills of the NFL, the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots.
Saban played as defensive Don Jaime, when James was head coach of Kent State University. James also coached NFL great Jack Lambert and led the golden flashes (which can be true) to their only title in the Mid-American Conference in 1972.
Like Saban, James was a winner. James became a coach for 18 seasons at the University Washington. He was twice named coach of the National College of years (1984 and 1991), visits Washington for the national championship in 1991, led the Huskies to 6 Rose Bowls (winner of 4), won the Orange Bowl title in 1985, had a record of 10-5 Thurs bowl, and has won 22 consecutive games from 1990 to 1992.
James was included in the Hall of Fame College Football in 1997, Saban will probably be admitted in the same hall of fame at some point in the future.
This is what Saban had to say about James: "Don James was my coach at Kent State College. I guess it had much impact on me than anybody in terms of organization, the quality of work, (and) be the best they can be. He is the person I got it (a) of training. "
Saban was graduate assistant, then Deputy Defense for the football team from Kent State University.
I have distant links Saban and James.
I graduated from Michigan State in 1966 and saw two great years of football before graduating. I remember the 1966 "Game of the Century" between then No. 2 ranked Michigan State and No. 1 in final ranking by tying a Notre Dame 10/10 at Notre Dame decided to settle for a draw instead of going for the win.
There were 5 All Americans in 1966 with the team of Michigan State University: Bob Apisa fullback, running back Clinton Jones, defensive end Charles "Bubba" Smith, receiver Gene Washington and rover (linebacker) George Webster.
I remember a game in 1965 when All-American running back from Illinois, Jim Grabowski and George Webster were running full speed toward each other and flattened Webster Grabowski. It was one of the best tackles I've seen. Grobowski left the game in the NFL's Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
Football at MSU turned to shit up Nick Saban arrived and took the Spartans back to the forefront. This was a long drought that lasted from 1967 to 1999.
I moved to Washington in 1973 and followed by the Huskies at the University of Washington and Don James more than I Michigan State during those years. Here in Washington, Don James is affectionately known as "Dawgfather" and treated with great respect as Don Corleone in The Godfather.
You will not experience a better football coach American university or person of Don James, he is always honesty, integrity and doing the right thing.
I hope that Nick Saban will bring Alabama football their rightful place. I was a Crimson Tide fan since the days of Joe Willie "Namath walked onto the campus of Alabama.
I am also very optimistic for season football to begin the State of Michigan has a new coach, a guy named Mark Dantonio who is serious about defense and the type of instilling discipline and winning attitude MSU needs.
The days of the club atmosphere of most countries are in the state of Michigan. Players are dealt with her or gone. Dantonio want to retain and Saban. SEC Care, here Nick Saban.
