What the hell is going on there? the Great Man would say if he were here today commenting on the numerous cases of players from National Football League is arrested for all crimes, DUI, physical violence to weapons charges. It's really depressing when you look at the National Football League title on Web sites like ESPN.com and most of what it means to see the reports of players getting into trouble with the law. Sports is supposed to be a nice change from the ugliness we see in international news or predictions for the housing market.
The new Commissioner of Bright from the NFL, Roger Goodell, obviously, wants to solve this problem, and seems to get the message that Thug-like behavior not tolerated. But the question is, are the players listening? Obviously, it seems a difficult task.
Several journalists have Athletes found that, in reality, all that matters in professional sports is to win, and if you're a talented enough player to help his team to win, no matter what type of citizen you are. The teams are ready to give players an unlimited number of potential second, third or fourth times that an employee of a company the "real world" would be allowed. Many companies actually do a second chance.
Perhaps Mr. Goodell needs a catchy slogan that could be launched in advertising to remind owners and coaches (and fans) that integrity in professional sports should be as important as winning. How about:
Say NO to the bullies!
A big city newspaper took a look at the effects of NFL players being arrested and compared with the population in general, noting that the figures are very similar, almost as if the problem has been exaggerated. This logic is fuzzy at best because the players of the National Football League not part of the general population. The peer group would be correct to compare them:
– Pampered Celebrities who have only a few months a year.
And among this group of football players had a higher incidence of rape law in recent years, even if any of Paris Hilton has been a meeting with police and two penalty points to Mel Gibson, because of the lack of mouth what he told the police officer who arrested him in Malibu.
Time to let the fans know the league they want to get rid of players who can not behave as decent citizens.
